Glaze yams

Years ago, Nanna made sweet yams. Sadly when she passed away her recipes were lost. I tried to look for a recipe similar to hers, but could never find one. This recipe is not like hers, but it is tasty.
Glaze
• honey ( 1/4 cup)
• butter 1 stick ( half a cup)
• cinnamon ( 1 teaspoon)
• sugar ( 1/2 cup)
( I used brown sugar, white is fine too)
• vanilla extract ( 1 tablespoon)

Melt butter, add sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil then pit onto yams. Add honey and cover yams with foil. Put in preheated oven at 400F
For about 25-35 minutes or until yams are soft and cooked. Depends on the thickness of yams. Enjoy!

I used 3 yams.

I diced them and put them in a small glass pan.

Pour the glaze over them and cover with foil.

The end results. While I tried to mix them, some of the yams got mash. But they still taste great.

Lovely year

I admit having a blog seems easy, but I am a full time college student so there are many busy days. Unfortunately, I did not post anything for a long, long time. Hopefully, this is the year that I continue writing and posting frequently about food recipes, fashion, and anything else that I want to share. I can't wait to start sharing with you throughout the year.

Here are few things that happen last year.

FROZEN BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

The cake was wonderful. It was a vanilla cake with strawberries and cream filling, covered with butter-cream frosting.
This past week, Alanna turned 5 years old. No surprise here, she wanted a Frozen birthday party. Her birthday party was amazing; she had a great time. I can not believe she turned five years old. She is growing up too fast. Since her Cinderella birthday party post was a huge hit, I decided to take pictures and post about it on the blog. Hopefully, you can get an idea or two how to throw a frozen birthday party for your daughter. Enjoy!

Alanna wanted to be princess Anna.

A huge Blue number five displays by the window. It was surrounded by blue fake flowers.

The table has frozen plates, blue napkins, white forks, and blue cups. On the right corner next to the blue cups, are cantaloupe slices filled with red jelly-o (huge hit with the kids). There are bowls of candy and chips for the kids as well.

You can see the gift bags in the corner with balloons.

A princess Anna doll is placed right next to the cake. In the left lower corner, you can see frozen cake pops. There is also a bowl of chips for the kids. As well as a bowl of blue&white gumballs, m&ms, and lollipops.

The Frozen cake-pops were delicious. There were chocolate and red velvet cake pops.

Fall preview

Hello everyone!!
This morning was slightly cool; therefore, I decided to experiment and try on potential fall outfits. I paired my black tee with my grey skirt and added my combat brown boots. I finished the look with a messy ponytail. Hope you try this for the fall.

New Year, New Me

This year, I decided to change my horrible habit of eating fatty non-nutritious food, and avoiding exercise, to working-out and eating healthy. I'm going to be 22 soon, so I need to take care of my body. I won't be young forever. Of course, I'm taking baby steps on my journey to be healthier. Since the new year started, I have being going hiking every Friday morning among with my sisters, and my cousin. What steps have you been taking to be healthier this year?

Moist Banana Cake

I made banana bread before, but never banana cake. But I had a lot of bananas and some buttermilk, so I took a chance on this recipe I found. And I'm glad I did the cake turned out moist, dense, and yummy. I was unsure to try this recipe at first because, it ask to freeze the cake directly right from the oven. But it turns out by doing this you get a really moist cake. Hope you try this recipe it won't disappoint. Enjoy.
